Which PDF editor is best for you?

Best Free PDF Editors

Table of Contents

Image to Text PDF Conversion

Converting image-based PDFs (scanned papers) into text-based PDFs can be challenging. Adobe's online service provides an excellent free option for files up to 100 MB. Its conversion accuracy is impressive, maintaining the original layout and page alignment. Unlike other editors, Adobe ensures text remains on the same page as in the original document.But its worst part is searching, it is unable to find all the words in the document, even in the offline version. Keep logged out for free conversion, for multiple downloads, use incognito mode

Merging and Splitting PDFs

For basic merging and splitting tasks, PDF Swarkn and Xodo PDF are great free tools. However, PDF Swarkn may show errors when handling files larger than 1.5 GB.

Adding Text, shrink and Other Features

For tasks like adding text, converting PDFs to images, adding page numbers, encryption, and passwords, PDF-XChange Editor is a fantastic free option. Its user-friendly interface and extensive feature set make it a reliable choice for everyday PDF editing.

Apps to Avoid

PDF Reader Pro is not recommended as it requires payments for basic features. Additionally, avoid Foxit PDF, which has concerning behaviors such as downloading without clear user consent and aggressively requesting permissions.

Conclusion

Feature Recommended App
Image to Text Conversion Adobe Online Service
Never use for reading or searching Adobe
Merging and Splitting PDF Swarkn, Xodo PDF
Adding Text, Encryption, shrink etc. PDF-XChange Editor
Apps to Avoid Foxit PDF

All these apps are available on the Microsoft Store for convenient downloads. Choose the right tool based on your needs to manage your PDF files efficiently.

But, when the pdf is above 1 gb all these softwares fail or demand subscription, then one and only option is "PYTHON"

More1: Merge PDF by Python

pip install PyPDF2
from PyPDF2 import PdfMerger

files = [r'C:\Users\ANURAG\Desktop\a.pdf',
         r'C:\Users\ANURAG\Desktop\b.pdf']
output_file = r'C:\Users\ANURAG\Desktop\merged_file.pdf'

merger = PdfMerger()
for pdf in files:
    merger.append(pdf)

merger.write(output_file)
merger.close()

print(f"Merge completed! Output saved as '{output_file}'.")

What is the best free offline folder sync software?

uptill now, it is the best

free of cost

can manage heavy files

very smooth

easy navigation

https://www.microsoft.com/store/productId/9NC73MJWHSWW?ocid=pdpshare

All these advantages you get:

  • By 1-way synchronization - This method, also called '1-way mirroring', ensures that the folders and files on the destination storage medium are an exact copy of those on the source. See here for a detailed description.By 2-way synchronization - This method, also called '2-way mirroring', synchronizes files and folders from Location A to Location B and vice versa. See here for a detailed description.
  • By direct copying - This method also copies all new and changed files, but files that are no longer present at the source location are not deleted on the target medium.
  • By cut and move - This method moves all new files and folders to the target location and then deletes all successfully copied files and folders on the source. Like cut and paste works in Windows Explorer. See here for a detailed description.

AVOID THESE THINGS TO PREVENT ERRORS:
1) DON'T KEEP VERY LONG NAMES
2) AVOID KEEP FOLDER AND FILE NAMES ENDING WITH FULLSTOP
    EX: "name."

one drive or google drive, which one better for backup or sync?

Google Drive vs. OneDrive

Table of Contents

My Experience with Google Drive

When I first explored cloud storage services, Google Drive caught my attention for syncing my files. Since it isn’t pre-installed on Windows, I downloaded it from Google’s website. Initially, everything worked smoothly, and I appreciated how convenient it was.

However, over time, issues started to surface. The folders I synced became inaccessible, and many of my files were corrupted. This forced me to reformat my computer, but sadly, I lost all my files in the process. Additionally, Google Drive links and embedded content would sometimes expire without any prior notice, which disrupted my workflow. i also observed that, if you have bulky of data even within total data is within 15 gb. if you don't use this data over time, automatically these are deleted without prior information.

Switching to OneDrive

After my challenges with Google Drive, I switched to OneDrive. Over the years, I found it to be more user-friendly and reliable. Since it’s pre-installed on Windows, syncing files is much easier. OneDrive rarely corrupts files, till now no such situation i suffered.

That said, OneDrive isn’t without flaws. Recently, I encountered an issue where it would abruptly stop syncing and display an error—even though I followed the same steps that had worked previously. Some days, everything syncs perfectly, while on others, the same process triggers an error.

When this happens, I’ve found a workaround: I delete the problematic file from OneDrive and manually sync it using the SyncFolder app. This resolves the issue and allows syncing to continue smoothly.

Ensuring File Security

Given my experiences with both services, I’ve devised a method to safeguard my data:

  1. I created a dedicated folder to store the files I want to sync.
  2. I use the SyncFolder app to sync this folder with OneDrive.
  3. This approach minimizes risks, ensuring my original files remain untouched even if syncing issues arise.

Conclusion

Here’s how I compare Google Drive and OneDrive:

  • Storage Space: Google Drive offers more free storage (15 GB) compared to OneDrive (5 GB).
  • Reliability: While OneDrive generally performs better, it occasionally encounters syncing errors that require manual intervention.
  • Integration: OneDrive’s seamless compatibility with Windows gives it an edge.
  • Risk of File Corruption: Google Drive posed significant challenges, but OneDrive’s issues are less severe and easier to manage.
  • Better search: Google Drive
  • expiry of links and embeded materials without prior information: google
  • Data safety: one drive

While Google Drive offers more storage, OneDrive’s integration and overall reliability make it my preferred choice, despite occasional glitches.
